The Reality of Falls in Senior Living
Understanding the scope of fall risk helps families see why proactive monitoring matters.
70%
of falls occur in the bedroom
95%
of falls are unwitnessed
26%
of Alzheimer's-related hospitalizations are caused by falls
19%
of older adults avoid activities out of fear of falling
Why This Matters
Overnight and bedroom falls are among the most common — and the most dangerous — incidents in senior living. When a fall goes unwitnessed, response time suffers, injuries escalate, and families are left without clear answers. Our Safety with Dignity program changes that. By combining event-based video detection with immediate staff alerts, we help ensure that when something happens, the response is fast, informed, and compassionate.

A Day in the Life
How It Works
A five-step process designed for safety, speed, and privacy.
Step 1
Activate
Residents and families opt in with full informed consent. The system is placed only in the bedroom — the highest-risk area for falls.
Step 2
Detect
The system uses AI-driven event detection — not continuous recording. It activates only when a potential fall or safety event is identified.
Step 3
Notify
Staff receive an immediate alert with context, enabling faster, more targeted response — especially overnight or during shift changes.
Step 4
Review
After an event, care staff review clear video to understand exactly what happened — no guesswork, no assumptions.
Step 5
Adapt
Insights from each event inform care plan updates, environmental adjustments, and fall-prevention strategies tailored to each resident.

Privacy & Consent
We built this program around respect for resident autonomy. Every detail reflects that commitment: • Fully opt-in — residents and families choose to participate • Bedroom only — the system is never placed in bathrooms, hallways, or common areas • No live streaming — no one watches in real time • No audio recording — conversations are never captured • Non-event video is automatically deleted

Can we opt in later or change our mind?
How Our Safety System Works
Yes. Participation is entirely optional. You may opt in at move-in or any time later, and you can opt out whenever you choose.
Does this cost extra?
How Our Safety System Works
No. This is part of our comprehensive safety and care program at Golden Pond. We believe enhanced fall safety is a standard every resident deserves.
Does this mean cameras are on all the time?
How Our Safety System Works
No. Cameras are installed in bedrooms only (never bathrooms or common areas) and are activated only with family consent. They are not live streaming. No audio is recorded at any time.
Does this replace caregivers?
How Our Safety System Works
Not at all. This feature is designed to support staff, not replace them. It provides additional “eyes” during unwitnessed times so staff can respond more quickly and accurately.
How does this improve safety?
How Our Safety System Works
Most falls in senior living occur in bedrooms, often overnight and unwitnessed. By detecting these events in real time, staff are alerted immediately—allowing faster assistance, fewer unnecessary ER transfers, and better follow-up care.
How is this different from wearable devices?
How Our Safety System Works
Monitoring is discreet, accurate, and always on in the background, allowing for no disruptions to the residents' daily routine.
Is my loved one always being recorded?
How Our Safety System Works
No. Monitoring is event-based only. The system records a short window before and after a detected fall. If no event is detected, nothing is recorded. All non-event video is automatically deleted within minutes.
