October at Golden Pond brings pumpkin decorating, fall outings, and Halloween traditions close to home. The Assisted and Independent Living newsletter and calendar also include familiar weekly activities, live music, and opportunities to spend time with neighbors.
October at a glance
- October 5: A fall scenic drive and lunch outing to Olive Garden.
- October 13: Golden Pond's own Pumpkin Patch, with pumpkins to choose and decorate.

A pumpkin patch at home
Residents can choose a pumpkin at Golden Pond's Pumpkin Patch on October 13 and decorate it in their own style. Finished pumpkins can go home with residents to brighten the space outside their doors. Please confirm the Pumpkin Patch time and meeting place with the activities team before attending.
The month includes more opportunities to make something by hand: Craft Corner with Marilyn on October 14, a fall craft on October 20, and knitting with friends on selected Fridays.
Fall outings and lunch with friends
The October calendar offers a mix of scenic drives, meals out, and shopping trips.
- October 5: Olive Garden lunch outing and a fall scenic drive.
- October 12: Lunch outing to Black Eyed Pea.
- October 14: Wednesday outing to Hobby Lobby.
- October 19: Lunch outing to Outback.
- October 21: Wednesday outing to Denver West.
- October 26: Lunch outing to Rib City.
- October 28: Wednesday outing to the History Museum.
Residents can check with the activities team about outing arrangements and sign-up details.
Music and familiar weekly favorites
Live music by Chasing Goats is scheduled for October 21 at 4 p.m. Friday happy hours feature Rick and Charlie on October 2, Ethan Hall on October 9, Prestige on October 16, and Larry O'Connor on October 23.
The calendar also includes Sit and Be Fit, Better Balance, Chair Zumba, bingo, card games, Poker Club, and visits from the Jeffco Mobile Library. These recurring activities give residents several ways to take part throughout the week.
Halloween around the community
Halloween Happy Hour with Tim Horton is planned for October 30 at 4 p.m. On October 31, Trick-or-Treat Street will bring decorated stops, costumes, and candy to the building for community kids and neighbors to enjoy. Please confirm the Trick-or-Treat Street time with the activities team before attending.
