Summer is in full swing at Golden Pond, and July is packed with ways for residents to stay active, connected, and engaged. This month's newsletter highlights a full calendar of community traditions, local outings, guest speakers, hands-on classes, and meaningful fundraising events.

Summer Gatherings and Local Outings

July includes plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the season. Residents can look forward to summer BBQs, trips to local farmers markets, relaxing picnics, and an outing to a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field.

Dining outings are also on the calendar this month, including visits to Olive Garden, Santiago's Mexican Restaurant, and Rib City. Golden Pond will also head to Evergreen Lake for a picnic with mountain air, scenic views, and time together outdoors.

Cooking, Baking, and Creative Moments

This month brings several hands-on kitchen experiences. Residents will make fresh guacamole from scratch, pair it with homemade chips, and enjoy the process together. The baking calendar also includes a build-your-own cookie experience, giving residents the chance to customize their treats with favorite mix-ins.

These classes are about more than food. They offer time for creativity, conversation, reminiscence, and the kind of shared moments that make community life feel warm and personal.

Shopping Events at Golden Pond

Golden Pond is welcoming two mobile shopping events in July. The Mobile Thrift Shop is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, with clothing, decorative items, picture frames, and other finds. Chez Vous Boutique is scheduled for Thursday, July 23 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, giving residents a convenient way to browse clothing, accessories, gifts, and unique items without leaving the community.

Alzheimer's Fundraising Throughout July

Golden Pond is also coming together throughout July to support Alzheimer's awareness and research. The Community Craft Show on July 19 will help support the fundraising effort, and the Tie-Dye Celebration on July 30 will bring residents, staff, and family members together for an afternoon of creativity and connection.

These events lead up to the Alzheimer's Walk in September, where Golden Pond will walk in honor of loved ones, friends, residents, and families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Guest Speakers, Wellness, and Conversation

July also includes a strong lineup of guest speakers and presentations. Active Minds returns with another engaging discussion, Mitchell Eames will lead Golden Girls Club, Jeff the Reiki Master will introduce residents to Reiki and relaxation, and Scott Perry will share stories from the history of Colorado sports.

Together, these programs give residents opportunities to learn something new, ask questions, reminisce, and enjoy meaningful conversation with neighbors and friends.

Celebrating the Golden Pond Team

This month's newsletter recognizes Chef Kenzo as Employee of the Month. The Golden Pond team celebrates his positive attitude, hard work, and willingness to help wherever needed, from preparing meals to supporting summer BBQs and Happy Hour.

July is shaping up to be a lively month at Golden Pond, with something for residents who enjoy food, learning, shopping, local outings, creative projects, and time spent with friends.
